Reaching Chinese Worldwide: China at Your Doorstep
The following article was written by our friend, Wright Doyle of the China Institute. "Dear Prayig Friends: In a week or two, schools and colleges will open again, and the classrooms will be heavily populated with Chinese. More and more, Chinese undergraduates are coming to the West for their college education, while graduate students and scholars continue to take advantage of our high-ranking universities, and their young children become top students in our schools. This steady trend may not persist, since Chinese parents and young adults have more money to spend on prestigious education abroad. Our Opportunity: Of course, as we say every year at this time, the...

Two Greatest Needs for China
The Two Greatest Needs for China: Often I am asked, “What is the greatest need for China”? I always respond that there are actually two great needs for China today; the need for Bibles in their language and for leadership training. The first is the need for more Bibles to China. China has a population of almost 1 ½ billion people. That means that about 1 out of every 4-5 people on the earth lives in China. FAR EAST
The Far East encompasses China, Korea, Mongolia and Japan. At present, most of our work is centered in China and N. Korea. China boasts the largest population of any country in the world, about 1.5 billion people. It is also home of the largest church in the world with as many as 150 million believers. China, a land that is known for its failure to change has, in reality, made tremendous changes in the last few decades; economically, militarily, etc. Persecution of the church and those who preach the Gospel is still widespread and the need for Bibles and training are great. N. Korea is the most “closed” country in the world to the Gospel. While persecution is widespread, the underground church continues to move ever forward. The need for Bibles, training, medicines, etc. is great and our partners faithfully continue to bring the Light of the Gospel into the vast darkness of N. Korea. (Note: For reasons of security we do not publish specific data about most ministries in this region. We value the lives and the work of our brethren, and thus must ensure that detailed information is kept CONFIDENTIAL. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.) |
