Christ to the Unreached Tribes
Country: Colombia

Colombia is one of the most violent countries in the world.  Leftist guerrilla movements, right-wing paramilitary groups, and drug-trafficking barons control many areas. Corruption, kidnapping, and murder brutalize this society.  Hundreds of pastors have been murdered, hundreds of churches have forcefully been closed, and thousands of families have left their homes to find safety.   God has raised up the ministry of Christ to the Unreached Tribes (CUT) to provide an answer to this dilemma:  Jesus Christ.

CUT has established two ministry training schools to spread the Gospel to the 20 remaining unreached tribal groups in the nation. The Missionary Transcultural Technical School trains native Colombians to become missionaries, and The Bible Institute (La Antorcha-The Torch) trains indigenous tribal pastors who return to their villages to plant churches.

Under the leadership of Helman Ocampo the ministry has initiated regular pastor seminars to provide continuous Bible teaching, prayer, encouragement and fellowship. This helps to motivate them to continue preaching the Gospel in the war zones.  CUT ‘s social outreaches have helped displaced families find food, shelter, and a way to make a living.  A refuge center has been set up for 100 children to keep them safe from kidnapping by the guerillas.  Comfort and aid is also being given to widows and their children.  Despite constant danger, CUT is committed to train and encourage pastors so that Christ can be proclaimed.  Then they model the love of Jesus by showing mercy to those affected by the daily violence.

Please Pray for Honduras

One of our ministry partners in Latin America is His Love in Action.  This ministry is headed by missionary leader Carmen Lindner, and mainly focused on working with deaf children.  Just recently we received the following heart-touching appeal for prayer from Sister Carmen.  As you read this appeal, will you prayerfully considering adding Honduras and His Love in Action to your prayer list? "The people of Honduras are living in tremendous poverty and fear these days! The economy has affected a majority of the people. Those who at one time were middle class are now living in poverty. Educated people with college degree are taking jobs as taxi drivers in order to put food...

Massive Flooding in Colombia

We understand much of the United States is being devastated by flooding, so I almost hesitate to ask for prayer for the flood victims in Colombia.  Colombia generally has two rainy seasons a year, each lasting two to three months.  However, since rainy season began last May it has not stopped.  We have had torrential rains nearly every day for a year now.   The damage has been horrific. 3,318,574 homes have been damaged. 447,482 homes have been destroyed. Eight of Colombia's major highways are closed due to flood damage. As you pray for flood victims in the States, please remember Colombia also. Wayne & Phyllys Wozniak Missionary friends of ANM...

The Restoration of Rosy

A girl named Rosy married a hard-working yound man and they had two beautiful children. For ten years they lived happily in peace until Rosy's husband began drinking in 2009. It did not take long for the habit to affect his whole family. Frequent fights broke out his new addiction left Rosy and the children without their basic needs. One night an argument broke out as usual. In a rage, Rosy's husband grabbed a knife and drove it into her throat, severing her vocal cords. He then did the same to himself, as kids were crying in the background. Paramedics arrived, and emergency surgeries were performed on both of them. While she was in the hospital a "man" came into her room and told her...

No Longer Abandoned

God used a woman in our church to rescue her nephew named Chui. Shortly after his birth, Chui's mother dumped him at his grandma's house, and she was never heard from again. When Chui was four-years-old his grandmother suddenly died and he was left homeless. By the young age of eight he was addicted to cocaine. When he turned 13, he was taken to a rehabilitation jail. However, when he was ready to be released at age 18, there was no home to go to and no one to take him. Feeling abandoned he began cutting himself and he tried to escape. For punishment he was put in a cooler cell for three months! In November his aunt who is a member of our church, went to get him. The following Sunday, she brought...

CFO Travels to Colombia

In September, Randy Odom and I travelled to Colombia, South America.  Randy is a member of my church.  We spent two weeks in Colombia, spending time with the Ocampo family (Helman and wife Rosaba, Deysi, their daughter and Brandon their son-in-law), who has largely been responsible for taking the Good News of Salvation through Jesus Christ to the indigenous tribes of Colombia.  God’s has laid on their hearts to reach all of the 80 indigenous tribes and plant five hundred churches within these tribes by 2015.  So far, their ministry has reached 39 tribes and has planted over 130 churches throughout Colombia.  Part of their ministry involves a training center that...

Ministry to Flood Victims

You may have heard of the severe flooding in the Anacayali valley of Peru. One of our ministries labors to be the hands and feet of Jesus in the midst of this tragedy. They praise God that many have responded to the need in Peru, and they have been able to deliver clothing as well as other needed items to the people whose lives have been struck by this disaster. Last week, two missionaries set out to deliver these supplies by both road and river.   The ministry continues to pray that God will provide the funds to purchase temporary roofing for those whose homes have been demolished by the floods. But mostly they pray that God will give them beauty for these ashes, and that many people...
