Nepali Fellowship USA

While we spend great time and expense to "reach the unreached" of the world, and we must, we must not neglect the mission field God has put right next door here in the U.S.  One such opportunity lies in the realization that thousands of immigrants, many as political and religious refugees, are coming to the U.S.  One such group is dear to the heart of ANM.  For many years, ANM has partnered with a wonderful ministry in N. India that ministers to the Nepalese people.  Rupak Shankar of Frontier Care Ministries not only ministers to the Hindus of India, he is also actively involved in evangelism and church planting among the 300,000 Nepalese who live in the refugee camps of Nepal. ...

What you could do with $8...

Do you know what you could do with $8? Listed below are things that we spend $8 on, sometimes on a regular or even daily basis: See a movie at the theater Get 2 specialty coffee drinks from your local coffee shop Buy 8 double cheeseburgers at most fast food restaurants Download an album Buy 2 pair of flip-flops Download applications on your phone Go miniature golfing Get a pizza Most of these items are luxuries that God has blessed us with. They are all great and can be useful to nourish us, fellowship with friends, protect our feet, etc. All can be used for our good, but oftentimes we take these luxuries for granted, or worse yet, treat them as necessities because they are at our...

Needing the Word

I once read a book by Randy Alcorn which stated: "If all the Bibles in America were simultaneously dusted, the sun would be obscured for a week." Sadly, I believe that statement to be true. America has so many Bibles, we don't even know what to do with them. Truly we have been blessed. Walk into any bookstore, and you will find a vast array of Bibles in different sizes, colors and translations. When I find myself thinking, "Now, what did that verse say?" I simply pick up my Bible and look it up. NIV or New King James? It's that easy. I can't imagine not having access to the Word of God. Every day, Christians in North Korea wake up wishing they had a Bible to read. Perhaps they just have a few...

Student Missions: What's Your School Doing?

This week there have been two testimonies from schools that truly have touched us in our department. Both schools show what happens when students of all ages catch a vision and invest in God's work around the world. SCHOOL 1: A Christian school in Charlotte, NC, hosts a  missions week each year. Leading up to the week they introduce a project to the students and tell them to do extra chores, sell something, or do something to collect for the project. For the last few years they have collected money to send Bibles to Iran. This year they continued this project to send Bibles to Iranians who cherish the Word of God. The students truly went above and beyond what one could imagine....

Bibles for the Nations

It is still a fact today that the Bible is the #1 best-selling book in America. Walk into a book store and you will find them by the dozens - different styles, different translations, but all the Word of God. Can you imagine a place where Bibles are nearly impossible to come by? Can you imagine trying to walk with God without being guided by His Word? Advancing Native Missions partners with a ministry that has translated the New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs into the Farsi language and distributes them to people who would otherwise never have one. A believer who gets their hands on one of these Bibles will often memorize entire chapters before passing it off to a friend who will...
