Medical Ministry Needs a New Vehicle

Would you consider helping Philippine Gospel Association (PGA) purchase a new ministry vehicle for their medical outreaches?  Take a look at project #504 on our project page (for more information) and also go to our Southeast Asia tab and check out PGA's page.  The cost for this new vehicle is $15,000.00 but if many join in to help reach the goal, this ministry team could be using their new ministry vehicle in a short amount of time. The photo posted is one style of vehicle and PGA has decided to purhase a Kia L270  that seats 19 people. UPDATE: The ministry has collected $1458.25 and now they only need 13541.75 to be able to purchase this vehicle....

A Garage Sale for Missions

A  garage sale is another good tool for your ministry, group or organization to use for raising funds. This idea comes from a church in Maryland and is supplied by a staff member here at Advancing Native Missions (Thank you JoAnne). Their church did this annually to raise funding for their missions outreach. The idea is to sell space to people in the community who are interested in participating in a neighborhood garage sale. You make money on the spaces sold but you also have members of the church or organization donate items that will also be sold with all proceeds going to missions.    The method used was to also combine the sale with a family fun day...

Medical Team Needs Glucometers

One of our partner ministries in the Philippines is in need of two sets of Glucometers for their medical missions.  Philippine Gospel Association (PGA) is a medical ministry that is headed up by Dr. Linda, a small lady in stature, but a giant when it comes to the spiritual and medical needs of her country.  PGA has a dedicated staff of pastors, doctors and dentists that give of their time and knowledge to reach many in the Philippines.  What they lack is equipment to do the necessary tests and examines to help their patients. Would you consider giving to this great need?  One unit is $250.00. If you are interested in giving, please see project #643 in our list of projects. ...

Checking Hearts! It is What They Do!

Philippine Gospel Association (PGA) is a medical missions team that ministers to the poor and needy in the islands of the Philippines.  As doctors, their HEARTS are for those that may not have a means of medical attention without their help. More importantly, they share the love of Christ to each patient that attends one of their clinics. Though physical hearts may have medical problems, PGA realizes that knowing Jesus is the "real heart" problem.  PGA is in need of a portable ECG Machine FME 501X to assist them on their medical outreaches. Would you consider making an investment to help purchase this equipment?  If your "heart" is touched by this need, please see project...

Raising Funds Made Fun!

Another idea for meeting a project need: A co-worker of mine shared that her local church gave small piggy banks to the members of the church (this could also be broken down to the children's ministry or just the adults).  Each person takes their pig home and attempts to weekly fill it up in any creative way imaginable.  Every week, on a given day, the pigs are brought to the church and emptied into a larger container.  The class that raises the most money receives a pizza party or some other form of award for their hard work.  The contest can be set for a certain number of weeks and the funds can be given to missions as a church or...

Christian Mission Projects

ANM’s Christian Mission Projects Department offers you (your church, Sunday school class, etc.) a way to directly assist native missionaries. Most missionaries need certain things to maximize the fruitfulness of his/her Christian ministry: Vehicles (bicycles, motorcycles, scooters, jeeps, boats) to help take the Gospel to the lost and avoid miles of walking on foot. Bibles or other Christian literature (tracts, Bible study guides) Computers (and related equipment such as printers) for word processing, record-keeping, and sending updates through e-mail And sometimes, native missionaries encounter special needs for larger projects such as church buildings, funds for children’s...

Stockings Delivered to Pine Ridge Reservation

Dee Prins with a group from Project Help delivered 100 Christmas Stockings to Eagle Nest Life Center in Wanblee, South Dakota. Each stocking contains a winter hat, warm gloves, socks, toys, comb, soap, toothbrush and toothpaste, and a Bible.  The Stockings were given to Pastor Gus and Terry Craven for their 2010 Christmas Program.  Girls, boys, and teens will be given the stockings at a Christmas party where the true Christmas story will be presented.  The young people will be given the opportunity to accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.  These stockings represent a tangible gift of hope.  This may be the only Christmas presents these young folks receive...

Rent-A-Kid

Looking for a cool way to raise support for a mission project?   Is your youth group, church or family willing to work to provide income to meet a need?  How about running a "rent-a-kid" program.  IT'S EASY!  Placing posters in your local area or church stating that children and youth are available to provide odd job services for donations. This is a wonderful way to raise support and makes the giving much more meaningful.  Perhaps cleaning a car or home, mowing the lawn or raking, planting grass. etc., the ideas and methods are endless.  Consider picking a project from our project list and then be creative! ...

Blankets for the cold, brings warmth to the heart!

A simple blanket!  Many people in the world have one, most people have extras in closets, just in case.  Imagine living in an area of the world where temperatures can become extremely cold and not owning one blanket.  This ministry based in the Northwestern part of India shares the love of Christ in many ways.  One wonderful way is giving a blanket to those in need.  The photo attached shows the joy of members of a leper colony (radiant smiles and laughter).  Phyically they suffer, but this ministry is taking the time to show them love.  If purchasing a blanket is something you would like to do, see project # 241 for more information. ...

Shoesboxes are not just for Shoes

Purchase a new pair of shoes and throw away the box - that's how I do it!  Yet, in Kashmir, India, shoesboxes are being recycled to bless many children.  You ask how?  The Ministry of KEF fills empty shoeboxes with simple gifts bringing joy to the hearts of children.  This is an exciting, effective project that I am certain you will want to be a part of.  Read more about this on project # 242....

Forex Boxes to the Philippines

ANM"s Warehouse for the Nations sends Forex boxes to the Philippines.  For $85.00 the box can be stuffed full of goodies and sent to our missions partners there.  If you are interested in this style of project (donating items or funds for shipping) please contact John or Lynn Parker in our warehouse division of ANM.  Just had to share this thank you letter from a Pastor in the Phillippines (Pastor Romeo) whose shoes were worn out and he could not afford another pair.  When the ANM Forex boxes arrived to Living Rock Ministries, Pastor Romeo received three pairs of shoes.  Attached is his thank you letter.         ...

Highlights and What is to Come

When I look back at what God did through Student Missions this year I am humbled and in awe. To think that student missions did not exist at ANM 3 years ago and to see all that God has done is incredible. I am so blessed to be a part of what God is doing around the world and to be able to get students involved. The following are some of the highlights from this past year: We had the opportunity to visit 3 college campuses and a college club to get students excited about native missions Had a university take on projects to support the work God is doing through native missionaries in 20 countries There have been about 10 college students involved in projects to advance the work that ANM is...

Student Missions: What's Your School Doing?

This week there have been two testimonies from schools that truly have touched us in our department. Both schools show what happens when students of all ages catch a vision and invest in God's work around the world. SCHOOL 1: A Christian school in Charlotte, NC, hosts a  missions week each year. Leading up to the week they introduce a project to the students and tell them to do extra chores, sell something, or do something to collect for the project. For the last few years they have collected money to send Bibles to Iran. This year they continued this project to send Bibles to Iranians who cherish the Word of God. The students truly went above and beyond what one could imagine....

Cool Things Happening in Student Missions

Well today we are launching a project at Liberty University that is so exciting. Last year the students at Liberty took on 25 projects that impacted 39 ministries around the world. The students definitely made a difference around the world. This year they are taking a huge step up with their project. They are getting involved in building a Christian university in Ghana, Africa. Today in Africa more than 73% of the population is less than 50 years old and more than 50% is less than 15 years.  In Ghana, like in most Africa countries, more than 60% of high school students who qualify to go universities do not gain admission. There are not enough universities coupled with inability to...

Student Missions 101

Attention ALL High School and College Students! Do you have a heart for spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ around the world? Then you have come to the right place. There are so many ways that you can use the gifts God has given you to serve Him and those He places in your path. First you need to seek God and the desires He has for you. Also, one of the biggest ways you can impact the nations is to pray for both foreign and native missionaries around the world. Prayer is the most powerful tool that God has given us and we need to use it more. Some tangible ways YOU can get involved are:                       Internships: ANM has...

Impressions From a College Student

I know you have been waiting with great excitement more information about Student Missions. Here are some impressions from a College Student on her involvement with Native Missions. "As a student at Liberty University, I had the great privilege of encouraging practical involvement in missions on my residence hall alongside the vision of ANM. It was a blessing for us as a hall to partner with ANM in furthering the Gospel of Jesus Christ by supporting these native missionaries! We were able to support them both in prayer and through various hands-on missions projects. This past year I was given the opportunity to serve as a Spiritual Life Director on a hall of sixty-nine young women. During...
